The Big Imagine Sleepout

METT’s Kelly Jagger will be one of 175 participants joining The Big Imagine Sleepout on Friday 17th November in aid of New Hope. New Hope exists to serve individuals who are homeless or vulnerably-housed through the provision of accommodation and opportunities to transform lives.

Kelly will be spending the night beneath the stars exposed to the elements. Right now, there are an unprecedented number of people facing the same situation every night. She will be raising sponsorship to help make a difference to those in need as they face the harsh conditions winter often brings. If you wish to sponsor Kelly please visit http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/KellyJagger

Of course as a first aid trainer Kelly is well aware of the symptoms of hypothermia. Early signs of mild hypothermia, when someone’s body temperature is between 32C and 35C include:

  • shivering
  • cold and pale skin
  • slurred speech
  • fast breathing
  • tiredness
  • confusion

If their temperature drops to 32C or lower, they’ll usually stop shivering completely and may pass out.

METT wish Kelly all the best with this challenge.
