Mike Neary Managing Director
Mike served 22 years in the RAF Regiment, learning how to hone his leadership and first aid skills while a recruit training instructor and station defence advisor. He holds a BA Hons in Education and a Cert Ed, enabling him to lecture in various fields. Mike was awarded a commendation in the New Years Honours List for meritorious service in the field of operational training. After leaving the service he became Course Team Leader at a College of Further Education, a role that included professional and personal development of staff, mentoring and coaching new lecturers through their PGCE. METT Ltd was launched in 2006,offering first aid training, but the company quickly developed and expanded and now runs an increasingly diverse range of courses.Mike has gained instructor qualifications in First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation, Manual Handling, People Moving and Handling, Fire Marshal, Conflict Resolution and Personal Safety.
Paul Sheldrick Senior Trainer and Conflict Resolution Lead
Paul has over 20 years of extensive knowledge working in the field of clinical mental health settings and has a BSc in Violence Reduction. He is a Prevention and Management of Violence and Aggression tutor, teaching conflict management and physical intervention skills within the NHS and private sector in a variety of specialist areas, which includes forensic medium/low secure and acute adult Mental Health settings. Paul is also a qualified to teach the following: First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation, Manual Handling, People Moving and Handling, Handcuff, Emergency Response Belt and Emergency Response Cuffs.
Gary Payne Trainer and FPOS Lead
After completing 22 years in the RAF Regiment, 12 of those years as a trainer, Gary left to pursue a career as a paramedic. After a short spell, he was invited to train personnel in First Aid Skills. Gary has taught on all levels of the first aid at work syllabus. He also teaches Advanced Life Support (ALS), Automated External Defibrillation (AED), Manual Handling, Sports Injuries and Paediatric courses for schools and nurseries. He is a qualified FA football coach and sports medic, Emergency Care on Pitch Side (ECOPS), coaches youth football and also works as a first responder and pitch side medic at Wembley Stadium.
Kelly Jagger Business Development Manager and Paediatric Lead
Kelly has over twelve years’ experience of training delivery, having delivered both within the private sector and a further education environment. Her delivery is supplemented with industry knowledge having previously worked within the private and public sectors of the leisure industry. She is qualified to deliver First Aid, Automated External Defibrillation (AED), lifeguarding and a wide range of nationally recognised educational qualifications. In addition to holding these training qualifications she holds a BA in Business Administration, PGCE and a V1 qualification relating to the monitoring of training and procedures quality.
Ian Carter Trainer and Manual Handling Lead
Ian qualified as a Chiropractor and started his own clinic in 2013. Before this he gained over 15 years of experience in the health and fitness industry as a manager and trainer. Ian currently teaches a range of first aid and fitness courses / CPD events for clubs, business and professionals as a guilty pleasure alongside his clinical work. It is Ian’s personal opinion that first aid is a life essential skill that we all should have. He delivers First Aid and Manual Handling training for METT.
Allan Dennis Trainer and Fire Safety Lead
After spending seven years in the Royal Navy as an Able Seaman and Weapons Instructor, Allan joined the London Fire Brigade in 1990. He is a qualified first aid instructor, as well as teaching oxygen therapy, AED and paediatric first aid. Allan has extensive knowledge as a Fire and Evacuation trainer from 25 years operational experience as a firefighter.
Ann-Marie Neary Director
After many years supporting educational establishments, Ann-Marie joined the company as Office Manager, overseeing all the qualification paperwork and quality assurance for our awarding body. She is a qualified first aid assessor and internal quality assurer, responsible for maintaining the high standards among our trainers. She deals with all the course and trainer bookings as well as representing the company at business and networking events.
Martin Gallagher Security and Critical Incident Management Awareness Training Director (CIMAT)
Martin served as a Royal Marine Commando; since leaving the service he has had many roles in the field of close protection. He has been the security office for CISCO Systems and completed five tours of Iraq as a close protection officer. He has also operated as a body guard to the rich and famous. His operational experience when delivering first aid qualifications is second to none. A consummate professional who holds all the relevant teaching/training qualifications.
