Excellent, cost effective training that gets results

METT offers a pragmatic approach that deals realistically with safety, health and environmental issues, tailored to meet the individual needs of its clients.

All training personnel are qualified teacher/trainers to the minimum of Level 3. They all have operational expertise in their field, ensuring top class, comprehensive training across a wide variety of industry-recognised courses.

Teaching is conducted in a friendly, approachable manner with plenty of interactivity – a formula that has led to the company’s proud boast that:

METT has never had a delegate fail any of its courses!

Mike & Ann-Marie Neary are the
owners of METT Ltd

They reside in the town of Leighton Buzzard with their loyal but mad Springer Spaniel Archie. Ann-Marie is responsible for the following: managing the office, marketing and finance as well as being a first aid assessor. Mike is involved in the facilitation of training and the training and evaluation of the company’s associate trainers. METT Ltd came to fruition in 2006 as both Directors had been on many training courses and found the delivery to be of poor quality; with a passion for training and communication they decided to firstly establish METT as a first aid training company, then develop it, enabling them to offer you the varied courses they now run. Over the past few years Mike has continued his own personal development and gained instructor qualifications in the following: Manual Handling trainer, People Moving and Handling trainer; Fire Marshal trainer, Conflict Resolution and Personal Safety trainer, Automated External defibrillation trainer. Ann-Marie has recently completed her IOSH Managing Safely course as well as being a qualified first aider holding the HSE 3 day qualification. Archie however hasn’t completed anything apart from catching the occasional squirrel or pigeon.

Prior to this Mike served in the Military

Whilst serving for 22 years in the RAF Regiment, I learnt how to hone the leadership and first aid skills of others due to having various roles from operational deployment on Infantry squadrons to training roles as a recruit training instructor and station defense advisor. Prior to my leaving the service, I studied and was accredited with a BA Hons in Education as well as a Cert Ed, enabling me to lecture in various fields. I was awarded a commendation in the New Year’s Honours’ List for meritorious service in the field of operational training. On leaving the service I held a lecturing post in a College of Further Education as course team leader. Within my role I was also an advanced practitioner; this involved the professional and personal development of staff, mentoring and coaching new lecturers through their PGCE. To my credit within two years I turned the poor level of academic achievement and retention to 100% achievement and 96% retention.
